新加坡南洋理工大學(xué)Weisi LIN副教授應(yīng)邀來(lái)北理工進(jìn)行訪(fǎng)問(wèn)交流

應(yīng)信息與電子學(xué)院邀請(qǐng),新加坡南洋理工大學(xué)Weisi LIN副教授于2012年6月13日下午在北京理工大學(xué)4號(hào)教學(xué)樓233室開(kāi)展了“21世紀(jì)學(xué)科前沿”學(xué)術(shù)交流活動(dòng),作了題為“Perceptual Visual Quality Metrics: Fundamentals, Issues an d Recent Developments”的學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告。報(bào)告會(huì)由信息與電子學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)龍騰教授主持,信息與電子學(xué)院30多位教師和學(xué)生參加了此次報(bào)告會(huì)。
報(bào)告中,LIN教授首先介紹了主要討論了圖像質(zhì)量評(píng)價(jià)的重要性,并深入分析了當(dāng)前圖像質(zhì)量評(píng)價(jià)體系(例如MSE、SNR、PSNR、QoS等)與人類(lèi)真實(shí)的視覺(jué)感受存在著很大的差異。以全新的角度從圖像結(jié)構(gòu)、顏色對(duì)比、掩膜影響、視覺(jué)飽和影響和視覺(jué)關(guān)注五個(gè)方面深入探討了人類(lèi)的視覺(jué)特點(diǎn)與圖像質(zhì)量評(píng)價(jià)的關(guān)系,為圖像處理時(shí)對(duì)圖像進(jìn)行不同類(lèi)型或不同情況下進(jìn)行差異化處理,使得計(jì)算資源得到更合理的分配。最后,Lin Weisi副教授與信息與電子學(xué)院的老師和同學(xué)們就報(bào)告內(nèi)容進(jìn)行了熱烈的交流和討論。
報(bào)告會(huì)后,趙保軍課題組的孫景樂(lè)博士介紹了離散圓簇算法的原理和在復(fù)雜地物情況下的特征提取和應(yīng)用問(wèn)題;吳京輝博士做了ELM學(xué)習(xí)的機(jī)理和訓(xùn)練問(wèn)題;蔡雨辰博士做了將離散圓簇用于SAR圖像去噪的問(wèn)題;彭州博士做了自適應(yīng)重疊變換壓縮的報(bào)告。另外趙保軍教授陪同林教授參觀(guān)了實(shí)驗(yàn)室和觀(guān)看相關(guān)演示,并進(jìn)行了深入交流。
此次交流使廣大師生開(kāi)闊了視野,受益匪淺,并對(duì)今后圖像/視頻處理領(lǐng)域的研究提供了很大幫助。
Biography: Dr. Weisi Lin graduated from Zhongshan University, China with B.Sc an d M.Sc, an d from King’s College, London University, UK with Ph.D. He served as the Lab Head an d Acting Department Manager in Institute for Infocomm Research (Singapore). He is now an Associate Professor in School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.He is a senior member of IEEE, a Chartered Engineer, a fellow of the IET an d an Honorary Fellow of Singapore Institute of Engineering Technologists. His areas of expertise include perception-inspired signal modeling, perceptual multimedia quality evaluation, video compression, an d image processing an d analysis; in these areas he has published 190+ refereed journal an d conference papers, an d been the Principal Investigator of more than 10 major projects (with both academic an d industrial funding ofoverS$4m). He currently serves as the Associate Editor for IEEE Trans on Multimedia, IEEE Signal Processing Letters an d Journal of Visual Communication an d Image Representation. He is the Lead Guest Editor for the recent special issue on New Subjective an d Objective Methodologies for Audio an d Visual Signal Processing in IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing.
